The GF registered me for a Harley drawing at the movies a few weeks ago, and SAT I get a call saying I won a free trip from the same drawing. I was too busy to take down any details from it at the time, and they called me back today. I get to choose from Vegas or Orlando, just have to go to some travel agency on WED and watch a 30 min video about their company to claim my guaranteed vacation with no purch necessary, but I need to plan on being at their office for 90 minutes. What kind of scam is this?

Haha yeah same thing happened here only the scam was for $50,000 or a new car. A few weeks later I get a phone call... wait I get about 20 phone calls someone looking for my girlfriend and I'm getting really pissed off cause these people would not leave a message for her or a number to call. Then one day I said, look you'll never get to speak to her because she is only home between 10pm and 830am m-f so you will have to leave a message or STOP f**king call here!! so anyway the lady tells me she had signed up for the cash or the car and that it would be given away in January, but already she had won a trip to Vegas, or Orlando... I was like WOW! that isn't exactly $50,000 now is it!! STOP F**CKING CALLING HERE!!!!! If you call again I'm pressing harassment charges. Have a nice day.

you do get a free trip but you have to deal with super high pressure sales, and be prepared to want to punch everyone in the face by the time you leave. then go to the bar afterwards.

Thats how we got our Worldmark membership kind of a timeshare but we can go to many many differnt places. Runs on a point system works for us. Free trip was cool.

Worldmark is the bomb! The only thing I don't is the places we like to go are always considered "peak" travel times like Vegas of Florida...

These douchemonkies call me all the time (I haven't entered one of those drawings in over 2 years after I got the first call) and it's ALWAYS Vegas or Orlanda. The only time I would be interested in going to Vegas for free would be for a Best in the Desert Vegas-based race...made the mistake of telling the guy on the phone that the last time and he kept hounding me (the last time he called was about 3 months ago...yeah they're still calling after 2 years). I figured out the trick, though...tell them you're married and that your spouse works an opposite schedule than you and you never have time off together until 8:30-9:00 PM, never have a whole day off together, etc...and they will generally stop for a while.

I met a couple that did this for all their vacations. They said they just go to the sales pitch and simple say "NO!" to everything. You just have to be ready for the very high pressure sales tactics.

You think its bad now, just wait, you will have every solicitor in the country calling you, and sending you stuff soon,, those drawings are a scam to get your info so they can sell ya. I never sign up for any contests anymore.

Yeah, I can't wait! I'll probably pass on this one, not a big fan of unsolicited sales pitches, and now they have my cell#....

Oh my favorite game. I like to cost them as much time as possible. Had an alarm salesman on the hook for over 2 hours the other night. Of course he managed to sell me on the alarm when it was all over, but he earned it.

I knew it was the Worldmark folks when I signed up. The first time we said no thank you and took the trip. Never got another call after we said no. We also never got calls from anybody else. The second time again we knew who we were signing up with and we bought in at the lowest level and took the free trip again.

I get these calls for my hubby saying that he registered at a NASCAR race. Funny thing is, he's never BEEN to a NASCAR race. Even funnier....we're on the do not call list.

I used to go to those presentations just to see what kind of scam it was. But I am easily entertained!

I stay in Breck for a week free every year thanks to those guys. I have to go sit through a time share speech but just tell them you are going to school full time and have no current income they left you leave after about 4 minutes.
