OK, we just bought the wife a new Kia Sorento 4x4, and we're going to Estes Park for the weekend in a couple weeks. Are there any nice "kiddie trails" near Estes Park that I can take the wife and grandkid on, that won't risk beating up her new ride and causing me much grief? Something real easy with nice scenery.
Thanks!

You might think about Pierson park road. It's a cake walk in a Jeep and I have seen bone stock Expeditions with street shoes on the trail. Granted they were changing one of said tires when we passed, Rocks, heavy vehicle and light duty tires are a bad combo. We have also taken the GF's stock Cherokee across it. I'm not sure how much ground clearance your Kia has but I bet you could make it.
You never hear much about it from the hard core crowd but it is a nice little drive that dumps you out on Hwy 7 NW of Lyons and starts just SW of the lake in Estes. The only thing I would even remotely call a challenge is a steep climb with a sharp turn at the top and bottom that has the makings to get greasy in a rain.
I'm not sure it shows up on any of the trail sites but I can give you GPS coordinates of the trail head and FR#'s if your interested. ETA: I stand corrected http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=189
You can also tie Piearson Park road in with Johnny Park road and end up back on 36 between Estes and Lyons. I would be careful on this if you try, there is one set of rock steps that just might send you to the body shop or in search of a strap and something to tug with depending on your skill level and ground clearance.
Old Fall River Road, as mentioned, is also nice but can be bumper to bumper some days and is a graded dirt road.

Yeah, well you're doing a good job of it. Guess you can't read very well either. The Kia is the wife's daily driver, it ain't for wheeling. Just looking for some mild stuff while we're in EP for the weekend. You'll be old one of these days too, smartass.

Bunce School road would be a good mild trail, by the way I had a lot of fun in my wifes Kia Sportage!

The Sportage is a surprisingly capable little vehicle. Simple and straight forward in design too. The Ex just sold hers with a 180,000 miles on it in seven years(yeah she drives a lot). Tires, filters and oil changes was all that was ever done to it.

Pole Hill Road is just East of Estes Park on Highway 36. It has great views of Estes Park and the mountain ranges.
From Estes Park, head East on Hy 36 for about 4 - 5 miles, after a very long uphill streight climb on hy 36, turn left at the top of the hill.
After you go threw an open gate, you will climb up a small hill, after you reach the top, look for a left spur road, this will loop around for about 1/2 mile with great views.
There are several spur roads. Really can get lost, one way in, one way out.

Like you going toward Lyons.
If going to estes park threw Lyons, look for the Forest Access sign about 1 or so miles past the KOA camp ground.

A "dispute resolution specialist" from NY. Is that anything like a Yankee Asshole? I wear a "dispute resolution specialist" on my hip, in .45 flavor. It says he's been off-roading for a year, so that gives him the right to criticize someone's vehicle choices?
Anyway...thanks for the suggestions all, we'll check 'em out.

If you're going to Scotfest (http://www.scotfest.com/)I hope you've already got your room booked. We had a helluva time finding one last year after waiting too late.
