Weren't you trying to get rid of a snoozer, I mean cruiser, in your garage? I didn't know you were replacing it with this! That is a BADASS piece of machinery. When I someday get my Honda Superhawk and we can put around together.

Yeah. I had the Valkyrie 1500 for 10 years. Put it on Craigslist Sunday at 0730 and it was gone by 1000. It was just not any fun to ride. I missed my sportbikes so I figured I needed another one.

I might be shopping that now. I was originally quoted $40 until I bought the bike then it jumped to $75 month. NOT real happy with my insurance company right now. I have 28 years of riding experience, no tickets, no accidents, no claims at all ever AND I insure 4 cars and a house with them.

Nice bike!! check out Progressive. I was looking at the same bike for around 38-40 a month. Sounds like we are close to the same age.

Sweet, we need to get out and ride this weekend!!! As long as it doesn't rain all weekend like the weather report indicated last night. You bought the new bike so, you will be to blame if it rains all weekend :flipoff2:

As for insurance, I use Progressive. They had the best rates since my insurance company that has my truck, trail, house, other cars....doesn't do sport bikes. I think my insurance works out to about $52/mo.

Just kidding guys.. I hope neither of you tag a car or lay it down.

Jeska is taking the M.O.S.T course this weekend. We are looking for a bike for her. Something she can practice on, maybe grow into.

Older 600s have a low seat height. They have enough power to grow into above 7K rpm but are pretty tame below 7K rpm.

Want something with enough power to ride on the highway. Most 250s just don't have that.

So ideally something like an 86-87 FZ600, 88+FZR600, CBR600 F1/F2, Zx6d, Ninja 600r, Katana 600, Hawk 650. Worst case if It a bet too "peppy" I can drop a few teeth off the rear sprocket to take the punch out of the bike while she gets her practice.

that would increase peppyness, it effectively lowers the gear ratio... which can be a bad thing for a newbie that cant handle wheelies!

EDIT: I'm a moron, that above statement is totally wrong!

Uhh, no...

A smaller rear sprocket will decrease acceleration but will increase top speed. A smaller FRONT sprocket would make it accelerate faster but have a lower top speed.

Scratch me from a ride any time soon Cole. I dropped the Duc on North Turkey Creek last night. I probably won't have money to fix it until this winter some time since I have to dig a new water line from my well to my house now  When it rains it pours....

Ding Ding Ding.....you are correct! And actually since it won't have the HP to fight wind resistance it really won's significantly increase top end speed. ..

Camp....what did you do? You okay? What happened to the bike? Pics?

I crash good. I'll get pics today but, I broke one handle bar and bend another, as well as thrashing a set of panels. I've only got a couple of scratches and a sore foot. I did a full flip off the bike to get away from it as I went down. My foot broke the handle bar :D

Edit: Oh wait, my new digi camera quit yesterday before the bike crash but, after my water line from my well to my house broke
