I'm curious to know how much the altitude decreases your bike's performance. Any 600's run at the track?
Our cars lose about 20%hp from the elevation, is that the same with the bikes?
Noob question I know, but humor me!
Thanks-

Its usually not as noticeable on the bikes due to higher compression. Assuming you rejet the carbs for the altitude, youll be fine, but if you go from sea level to denver(or up into the mtns) with stock jetting, you will notice a decrease in performance. If your bike is stock or near stock, a stage 1 jet kit is recommended at higher altitudes.

Most 600s are 12 second bikes at bandimere last time I was there. I used to drag race a bunch on a bike.
Yes, the bikes loose the same power.
600s will be lucky to break 120mph 1/4 miles. That is fast for a 600. The new open class machines will be around 130mph and mostly in the 11s. Compare 130mph 1/4 miles here with the 145mph 1/4 mile speeds they will make at sea level.
Now, the way to make up all the power is with nitrous.....
